Musical Biography:

Brian Rosen began musical studies at age six with private piano lessons.  By age ten, he expanded music studies learning trombone in the public school system.  He continued private instruction in classical piano for fourteen years, later studying jazz, improvisation, and popular styles.  While still in high school, he studied piano with Miss Katherine Humphries at the University of Northern Colorado.

Continued interest in music led to music studies at Colorado State University where he received a Creative an Performing Arts Scholarship.  He studied trombone under the direction of Dr. William Runyan, and received voice instruction from Dr. John Lueck and Mr. Michael Lipe.

A busy performer in numerous instrumental and vocal ensembles at CSU, Brian was also lead trombonist in their number one jazz ensemble, The Statesmen.  He was elected Vice President of the CSU Wind Ensemble, served as a member on The Performing Arts Council, and was co-director of Jazz Band IV.

Finding greater interest in jazz, Brian formed his own six piece jazz combo that played in the Denver, Colorado area.  In addition to writing original material and arrangements for his band, he has arranged music for the Colorado State University Jazz Bands.

An accomplished singer and performer, Brian has sung professionally in a variety of roles in both opera and musical theater.  He has performed extensively in Colorado and was a soloist with the former Denver Symphony Orchestra.  He has performed as a trombonist in the recording studio environment, is a licensed radio announcer and performs as voice talent for  voice overs and narrations.

Expanding his musical interests in composing and lyric writing, Mr. Rosen constructed his own home music studio in 1990 named EFX MIDI Studio, now known as EFX Studio.  As a composer and lyricist, Brian's musical style ranges from jazz, popular, instrumental, and orchestral works.
